Hip Pain
Just like a house needs a sturdy foundation, so does your body. The foundation of your body is the hip area, the pelvis, sacrum and ilia hip bones. This area holds up the structure of your body, and your spine. Just like an unseen problem in the foundation of your house can cause other problems, problems in the hip area can cause other problems on your body. Your spine, which keeps the head erect, must make up for any imbalance in the foundation. Imbalances here can cause stresses on the body at the hip level and farther up the spine. When the spine compensates, the whole structure is compromised, causing dysfunction and pain. Chiropractic can help keep the body structurally balanced and sturdy. By setting and keeping the foundation of the spine straight, the body can stand straight and sound.
Many hip problems are blames on arthritis or the more common "wear and tear". However this is not the case. Unlike other forms of arthritis osteoarthritis is mechanical. Think of it like this - if your alignment is off on your car your tyres will wear down unevenly. Is the problem the tyre or the alignment? Your hips are the same, When your hips are unbalanced you will put pressure on one side more than the other. Just like your tyre this side will wear quicker. Furthermore the wearing is more of a symptom. The associated inflammation that is involved with the increased load can often be the culprit and the Chiropractic adjustment has been shown to decrease inflammation. I have lost count of the amount of patients that when they star chiropractic treatment feel they are "riddled with arthritis" and cant be helped only to report vast improvement over 6 weeks. Don't blame wear and tear blame inflammation and Chiropractic can help.
