In Feb/Mar 2009 my elbow and shoulder on my right arm was uncomfortably sore. I went to a medical doctor who diagnosed a tennis elbow and gave me a cortisone injection. The elbow was immediately better, but I knew we hadn't really found the source of the problem. I noticed that I was using my right hand less. By April it was very sore again and I went back to my GP. I got another cortisone injection and a referal to a physiotherapist. I went twice a week for 6 weeks to the physio and I stopped all my sport. I had the full range of treatments, but no real improvement. Eventually, in June/July,

I couldn’t justify the cost anymore and gave it up. I accepted that my right arm will be “giving problems” going forward. By October I couldn’t lie on my right side in bed and I was waking up at night because of pain. You have no idea how sore pinched nerves can be! At that stage I didn’t know what it was. I was planning to go to an Orthopaedic surgeon, but the idea of surgery put me off.

My chemist recommended Dr. Niall Tilley, a chiropractor. After the first visit I slept a full night for the first time in a long time. He also sent me for X-rays (why did my GP or the physio not do that?). I had a sub-located shoulder which had an impact all the way down my arm. My neck also needed adjusting. I initially saw him 3 times per week and I had a relapse in the initial few weeks – accept that it happens. However, here I am, typing this email and as far as I’m concerned I have full use of my arm back. It is still sore and it still slips out, but we’re working on getting the muscles stronger to prevent that. I’m doing all my sport again.

So, not only did I get away without surgery, I also have a better result than I would have had with surgery. Go and give a chiropractor a chance, you won’t regret it.

S O'R

https://www.chiropractic-ireland.com/testimonials/s-or

https://www.chiropractic-ireland.com/testimonials/s-or#comments

testimonials

I've been suffering with migraine & headaches for over 10 years and during this time I've tried everything - different tablets, acupuncture, Chinese tea, diets & food intolerance tests. After about 18 months it went.

In 2002 i was at a Funfair and i got a jolt and it brought it all back. Again i went to the doctors and physio and it didn't help nor did taking any pain killers.

I tried heat packs and ice packs but they didnt relieve any pain. It lasted for a year and a half. The pain went but i couldn't move my neck. My thumb and little finger stayed the same through out all of this.

It eased for the next 5 years but never completely went. It came back sverely i 2008. I couldn't move my neck at all. I went to my doctor and she recommended a sports therapist, I attended one for 6 sessions and he massaged my neck and back. The therapist said it was down to stress and i was full of knots. The physio or massaging didnt help at all.

My daughter recommended that i should try a Chiropractor and we found Dr Niall Tilly. I made an appointment in August 2009. I told him what had happened to me.He sent me for x-rays. The x-rays showed severe damage to my neck and to the back of my throat. I attended Dr Niall 3 times a week in the beginning. After a few sessions i noticed an improvement in my neck and with the pins and needles. After a while he changed my appointments to 2 times a week. I am improving with each visit so much that i have started to get a lot more flexibility in my neck and i also have full feeling in my thumb and little finger. I have noticed a big improvement in my back and left leg which i didnt realise was put of line until i went to Dr Niall. I am now going to see him once every 2 weeks and feel great. It is 17 years since i have felt this good. If i would have known about Dr Niall Tilley a few years ago it would have speared me a lot of pain and a lot of money.

I would recommend anybody with my injuries to go and see a chiropractor.

I can't thank Dr Niall Tilley enough for all the help and care he has given me.

A big thank you.

E.Barrett

https://www.chiropractic-ireland.com/testimonials/ebarrett

https://www.chiropractic-ireland.com/testimonials/ebarrett#comments

testimonials

My pain started when I woke one morning with a crick in my neck which I then had for approx two days. The pain then seemed to work its way into my forearm which I then had constantly for the past nearly 5 months now & an Ultra Sound Scan on my arm at a cost of another €200 which both came back clear but as thankful as I was for that I was still in constant pain.
So the next step was the Nerve Conduction Study which was at a cost of €169 & had I known what I was going to be subjected to I would never had gone for this test the electric shocks I experienced in my arm were so intense not to mention uncomfortable.
When I passed this remark to the Doctor conducting the test she replied back to me ok I won’t go any higher than 10!!
Then after the electric shocks were finished & I thought it couldn’t get any worse the Doctor then took this needle and proceeded to stick it in the muscles in my arm & several other areas on my arm as I’m Insulin Dependant Diabetic & inject myself twice a day I don’t have a problem with needles but when the Doctor stuck the needle in the Thenar Space the webbing part of the skin between the Thumb & Index finger at this stage I had a nausea feeling & thought I was going to pass out!
I managed somehow to not to pass out & at the end of this horrible test the Doctor calmly told me she couldn’t find any trapped nerves in my arm to which I replied where does that leave me as I’m in constant pain to which she replied the next step is most likely an MRI.
I left the hospital on the Friday afternoon in agony & totally deflated that I’ve spent all this money and I’m still in constant pain & no one seemed to have any answers as to what was wrong with me or more importantly how the problem could me fixed.
The following day which was Saturday I couldn’t move my neck somehow I think the Nerve Conduction Study was to blame for this & the pain in my arm also seemed to have worsened .
By the Tuesday of the following week I could no longer stick the pain so my sister suggested I go see a Chiropractor Niall Tilley @ Back to Health she contacted Niall who I then spoke with & he kindly agreed to fit me in for an appointment the very next day.
My sister had an accident in 2010 & was X-rayed in Hospital & discharged the next day & told to rest for 48hrs again she was in constant pain and after 7 weeks of agony my cousin recommended she go see Dr. Niall Tilley @ Back To Health.
And the minute Dr. Niall saw my sister walk in & on examination he knew something wasn’t right so he referred her for an X-ray which showed her pelvis was fractured in 3 places and that went undiagnosed in a Hospital for 7 weeks.
Anyway back to my story I went for my appointment with Dr. Niall and at last I found someone was prepared to listen to me and give some answers as to the pain I was experiencing in my arm.
Dr.Niall looked at my X-rays I’d had done @ the Hospital and as soon he looked at them he informed me the problem in my arm was arising form my neck to which the hospital said my X-rays were clear!
So Dr.Niall started to work on me and the very next day there was a remarkable improvement in my neck he did advise me however if I was feeling any pain to use cold instead of heat which I found great as normally I would have used heat which in turn was only aggravating the pain.
I’m still attending Back To Health at the moment & I’m delighted to say my arm is starting to show improvement I just wish I had gone down this route in the beginning instead of going to Hospital to be subjected to unnecessary & painful tests not to mention the expense!
I would highly recommend anyone experiencing pain like mine to go to Back To Health & see Dr. Niall Tilley before heading down the long & stressful Hospital route.
